Good value, clean, though can be noisy

This is a modern clean hotel, only 3 minutes walk from the main Railway Station and Konigstor entrance into the Aldtadt, so good location. Rooms are clean and bright, medium size with small bathroom with shower (no bath) TV and mini-bar and opening window. No Air conditioning. Breakfast buffet was very good in ultra modern dining room, with plenty of choice from muesli, yoghurts, fresh fruit salads, hot sausages scrambled egg, breads, cheese meats, smoked salmon - great choice. The one major disadvantage of this Hotel is that the rear of the Hotel overlooks the Railway Station and tracks, and rooms at the back of the hotel can be very noisy with trains and station announcements! The doubled glazed windows help, but then the room is very warm with the sun shining in, so if you open the window the noise is too much, unless you are used to a noisy location. If the rooms face the front of the hotel and into the street, then there is no problem. Rooms at the rear are EVEN numbers ie 204 206 etc 302 304 306 etc Rooms facing the street are ODD numbers 301 303 305 307 etc. All rooms on third floor are NON smoking, so that floor is better for those who do not smoke.

Hotel is also close to the Opera Hall and the DB Train Museum, and the Metro Line for Opera or Hauptbahnhof. Special deals are often available at this hotel making it very good value (about £25 per person in double room including buffet breakfast) but just be sure of having an ODD numbered room at the front!!

Staff at reception were helpful and polite and spoke good English.

Unique Quality: Good location near main Railway Station, Opera House and Transport Museum, and only 3 minutes walk into the old town from Konigstor entrance.

InterCity Nurnberg

£50 per night (double room)

Unique Quality: This hotel was really reasonable for its quality. The rooms were clean and modern, well fitted with TV, radio, phone and mini bar. The on suite shower room was great, clean towels and linen were provided each day. The buffet breakfast was very nice, a huge selection of yoghurt, fruit, museli, juice, sausages, eggs, bacon, breads, cakes, toasts....

Jugend-Hotel Nurnberg

by leafmcgowan about Jugend-Hotel Nurnberg

A bit far off the beaten path lies this charming hostel with decent sized rooms, beds, and tiny bathrooms. They have over 120 rooms. Set in the woods by the airport, its like an old-fashioned adventurers hostel with nice natural scenic beauty around the grounds. The hostel is pretty spacious with lots of land for outdoor activities such as frisbee, barbeques, and sunbathing. Inside is a big lobby with a tv-lounge, internet room, and a dining hall. If you don't have your own car, public transportation or cabs are a must in order to get into town due to the remote location. Reception desk hours are sporadic but the clerk is not too hard to find. Rating: 4.25 stars out of 5.

nh hotel nurnberg city

by shimin

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of or made use of the sleep and go promotion by NH hotels, listed here: http://www.nh-hotels.com/nh/en/special-offers.html;jsessionid=EDC8728DC740BA6BE81044F703C49E95.NODE2 and here: http://www.nh-hotels.com/nhportal/_jsp/sleep_and_go/index.jsp?lang=2&idpromo=200079

I am looking at staying at NH hotel nurnberg city with 2 others, and the sleep and go option is more than 10euros cheaper per night. However, there is scarcely any information on the conditions and we are confused about why the promotion tagline includes cars. Does taking up this promotion require us to hire cars from them? Or is it purely a promotional gimmick and all I have to pay for is the room?

Thank you for any help you can give!

I looked at the links and didn't see anything about actually having to arrive by car. But I saw a few other restrictions, namely the one about having to book a double. You say you're coming with two friends, which means this offer is good for two of you, the third person will have to book a single.

I checked at a weekend in August and came up with 127,50 Euro for the three of you for one night.

But if you to the regular NH page and book a triple, you suddenly get a room rate of 82,50 Euro, also through Sleep and Go, but this time no mentioning of double only.
