What to do at 4am?

by ivyreb

I am taking a bus from Prague that arrives in Nuremberg at 4am. Does anyone know what I can do at that time, until stores/tourist sites open? Any 24 hour pubs/restaurants/venues/ANYTHING open then?? I will be arriving near the train station, if that makes a difference...

thanks!

On which day of the week will you arrive?

Tuesday morning! Not exactly a great night/day for nightlife, I'd guess...

There the infamous "Wacht am Rhein" opening at midnight and closing around 6 am .

The place is a traditional German pub/restaurant, but due the opening times it is often used a a after party place....
As the red light District is close by, it can be big fun or a real embarrassment.....

e.g. McDonald's and Burger King are open from 5am till 3am.

Travel Tips for Nürnberg

A view of the Museum Bridge

by Travelchili

This photo was taken from the Meat Bridge or Fleischbruecke and you can see the always busy Museum Bridge or Museumsbruecke. Behind the Museum Bridge you can also the see the Hospital of the Holy Spirit. On the Museum Bridge you can see many stands with vegetables and with some local food to buy.

Sinwellturm

by globetrott

The Sinwellturm / Sinwelltower of the castle of Nürnberg was built at the second half of the 13th century and it was used as the prison for a long time. Nowadays it is the highest observation-point of the castle, you pay a small entrancefee at a machine and then you can step up and enjoy an excellent panorama-view of the city.

By train to Nuernberg

by Airpunk

Like every larger city in Germany, Nuernberg is easily reachable by train. Train tickets from any german town are available, with some long-distance offers starting at 29,00 EUR (2007). Regional fares are even cheaper, depending on distance. The beautiful train station building was opened in 1905.
If you are travelling from any larger german city in the north or in the west, have a look at Air Berlin which often beats the train fares and is faster than the train company.

Mexican Food II

by AnnaLupilla about Enchilada

OK, again you cannot find REAL Mexican food at this trendy place named after a very famous Latin American tortilla dish, but it is the most authentic you can find in the city, and WAY better than Sausolitos - I MEAN it!!!
The best time to visit in a peaceful atmosphere is around lunch time; if you want to go there for dinner, be sure to make a reservation quite a few days ahead, as otherwise it will be very difficult to find a table. Plato Mexicano is a great tip to have the famous 'little bit of everything'.
A good tip is to be here during the Happy Hour as coctails then are half-price ... and they are soooooo delicious!!! Even better: if you don't want drink alcohol, there is a quite huge menu for non-alcoholic coctails as well, and I really love them these days.

As almost all Germany , nurnberg is a great place for clothes shopping. If you know German clothes catalogue OTTO, you will find clothes from it on much cheaper prices. Clothes are cheaper there than in my native Lithuania even, and quality is great, so.. Bring money money money. Great deals, great spot for that.
