Let´s walk downhill
Let´s walk downhill. The Old Town has been renovated, and many of the old buildings have been made museums (or pubs). This one is Fembohaus, the toy museum (or the museum of traffic? Can´t remember!)

BLUEBOY1411
Hey Blueboy. You nearly gave me a heart attack there saying the game is on 20th November. Its on the 8th. I too am travelling to Frankfurt and then hopefully train to Nuremburg. At the minute Ive booked 2 nights in Nuremburg but may travel back to Frankfurt for the second night as I fly early on Saturday morning. If I find out anything I will let you know.
Cheers
yes sorry i did mean the 8th.
Your hotel is in the city centre which is full of bars. The stadium is further out but easy to reach by tram from the Central station. You can see it on my Nürnberg page.
Here's everything about the team: http://www.fcn.de/index.php?id=15178
How long does it take to get from the main train station to the ground?
Come to think of it, there is a commuter train stop nearby too so that might be even easier. Here's what the stadium itself has:

Rather than going to McDonald's, a great alternative is to visit the food stands along the Pegnitz River. You can find fresh fruit, cheese, bread, and Nuremberger bratwurst (long and thin).
Or, if you've had nothing but Bratwurst during your visit, the fruit stands give you a chance to balance out your diet.
Just outside the Altstadt, down by the theater and a part of the Transport Museum is a nice little Vietnamese restaurant . The food is great, and the service is friendly. I really enjoyed a Red Tofu Curry - it's a great stop for vegetarians. They do a wide range of Vietnamese dishes, and any genuine dish that isn't listed they promise to cook up for you. In addition they also specialise in Sushi. I stopped here because of the smell, and was very glad I did.
The Imperial Castle sits on the hill above the old town. One of the most important imperial palaces of the Middle Ages, it was used between 1050 to 1571 by every emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.
The castle affords a panoramic view of the city, but go early before the crowds arrive. I suggest waking early, having breakfast, and taking a morning walk up to the castle.
The residential and state rooms, Romanesque double chapel, the Deep Well, the Sinwell Tower and an impressive collection of arms and military equipment are also open to the public.
Entrance fees:
Combination ticket 6,- € / reduced rate 5,- € / Palas with Museum 5,- € / reduced rate 4,- €
Free admission for school classes with teachers.
Deep Well plus Sinwell Tower 3,- € / reduced rate 2,- €
Regular tours through the Museum every 1st Saturday of the month at 2:30 pm 1,- €

Unlike most large cities, the gates and walls of Nuremberg did not fall victim to business expansion but remain largely intact. The walls surround the historic old city containing the most important attractions, bisected neatly by the picturesque Pegnitz River with its four islands. Built between the 13-16 Century, constantly expanded and upgraded, about 2.5 miles remain intact with five surviving gates and numerous towers. Frauentor at the train station is the first most visitors see and contains a craft bazaar (Craftsman's Courtyard) and a beerhall. Through this gate is the largely pedestrianized Konigstrasse, the busiest street in the Old City. Others include the scenic Laufer Tor, the most direct gate for access to the castle and St. Sebald's, and Tiergartnertor at the Albrecht Durer House. There is an intact grassy moat surrounding the walls, never filled.
