Great Hotel Close to the Station

Not far from the station, outside the city walls, at first sight, this hotel may seems a bit remote.
However there is an underground passage that leads directly into one of the many pedestrian road to the city center.

From outside, the building doesn't have anything exceptional, on the inside it's a classical Sheraton, quite classy.
The room is also what you could expect from a 5* hotel, simply perfect. The bed is big and comfortable. The bathroom follow the same trend as well. A bit of a pity that the shower is not on its own.
The rooms are overlooking a very quiet street so no real issue related to noise!
Wireless Internet access is also available via iPass. A choice of newspapers (including two French ones) is available from the reception floor close to the restaurant.

I haven't had the time to check the breakfast but I had the chance to have dinner twice at the hotel. Even if the waiter is not that smiling, the quality of the food is quite decent. That's a nice change from the traditional Bavarian food.

Luxurious comfort

Located midway between Nuernberg's Opera House and Main Railroad Station, this hotel resembles a concrete box from the street -- nothing like the historic Hotel Carlton of old.
Inside a surprise awaits.
The Arabella-Sheraton chain completely gutted and rebuilt an old property and transformed it into a modern gem.

Beginning with the spacious marble foyer filled with comfortable seating, the visitor is made to feel welcome upon arrival. Pictured here is the complimentary map given out at check-in. Past the sleek bank of elevators, visitors are drawn to the handsome dining room, furnished in a modern, slightly Oriental style. The staff and service sparkle, both at breakfast and at dinner.

Upstairs rooms again exude a touch of Oriental serenity: piles of white linens heaped on polished ebony beds. Bathrooms are luxuriously appointed and meticulously maintained. Quiet comfort is the order of the day -- and night!

Unique Quality: If there is any minor drawback at all it might be that the hotel is located outside the medieval city walls, a short walk of approx. 2 blocks from all that is 'happening' during the evening hours. On the other hand, visitors staying here on Opera Nights will find themselves in the very heart of the action.

At prices no higher than most Sheratons in the USA, the Hotel Carlton offers a superior level of comfort and service.
