ROTTENBUCH - 30 km north of Oberammergau

The baroque church of Rottenbuch is about 30 Km north of Oberammergau.
You will pass by it , when driving to Munich.
Make a stop, the church is open all day and may be visited freely.
They even have a large parking, so you will just loose a few minutes and see one of the most beautiful little churches in Bavaria.

I had seen so many photo's of the village and its lovely Luftlmalerel painted houses that I had decided many years ago this was one village that I was still going to see. The Passion play was what finally brought me to the village.

Sharrie's Oberammergau Fantasy

Oberammergau is unlike many German cities. I felt like entering fantasy land when I first arrived. Beautifully painted buildings adorned this tiny city & resort. Like a child, I found this a delightful place within the realms of the technologically advanced country. Quite a contrast to "my" idea of Germany. In some places, one discovered one's self within. I would never have thought I'd find it in here :)
