Hi folks, I am staying at the Holiday Inn in Passau which is opposite the station I think, how far is Steinbachstr from there? Can I walk it? Thanks.
~ 3,5 km
That would be rather a big walk. This street is several kms west of Passau. You can reach it by bus - most probably stop Westendstraße. Although I know Passau very well I have never used public transportation there, so cannot say it for sure, and I do not find a good map which would include the bus stops.
The way west is along a very busy road but there is also a bicycle track slong the Danube. So if you would want to walk you could walk on this track.
Thanks for your help. I found my way by taxi!

Pilgrims come here to pray. In fact there is roofed over stairway, where pilgrims go up to the church while praying.
Just an interesting church with nice view on surroundings.

There is a steep street in the middle of old town called Hell's Avenue and has a door that illustrates how the plague was dealt with back then---"Doctor Bird", a doctor with a special birdlike mask which was stuffed with herbs (so as not to catch the plague---not really sure if that would work!) would come to the door and use a long staff to bang on the door, where the plague victims would open just the little window in the door so the doctor could leave them herbs and such without having to get close.
Next to the cathadral you may see this lovely entrance-gate to the old residence of the Bishop of Passau. The diocese of Passau once was a lot bigger than today, including also a big part of Austria, Bavaria and Bohemia, and of course such power had to be shown by beautiful palaces.
This palace dates back to the year 1775 and shows the coat of arms of the bishop and an interesting and colorful facade.
Passau is a truly handsome city, with great scenic vistas overlooking the three rivers which come together at this place. There are many beautiful religious edifices and historic buldings, and you'll enjoy walking around the city.
