Nice resort town

"Near the lake & mountains"

Prien is a pleasant resort town on Chiemsee. The day we stopped there was a Monday on our way back from Salzburg. We hoped the little green train would be running. No luck! We did the walk down to the lakeside from the station (about 2 k). The town was very quiet, but the weather was perfect. We had a nice dinner in a restaurant near the lake.

This little town is the gateway to Schloß Herrenchiemsee. Take some time to look around the town and see some of the sights that are around here.

The town is very busy with tourist and some of the prices are a bit high in the summer months but a walk around does not cost anything.
