There are some caveats, however. We parked outside on the edge of the Altstadt, as I didn't want to negotiate Regensburg's narrow streets in the dark for the first time. It was a 10-minute walk with luggage . . . which was okay, as we didn't have that much luggage for two nights. We bought the parking pass from the hotel and paid a concession rate of 6 euro per day instead of 10. We had a room on the top floor--which made for a great view, but it meant numerous flights of stairs every time we went up to the room. And the window does a good job of blocking noise, but there is a cafe below the Petit Hotel and when people are talking outside, well, it sounds like people talking outside. It was an unusually warm January, but I imagine this must be an issue throughout the summer (it was an issue for us on a Saturday and Sunday night). If you are really sensitive to noise, this could be a problem for you (I slept right through it).
Excellent location, superb breakfast. 91 euros per night for two persons.
