A very hospitable welcome in Rothenburg
by T&THartin
We've just come back from Rothenburg and wanted to share a tip for a very nice holiday apartment just outside the old city walls (15 min walk to the centre of the old town). It's run by Nona and Werner Henkelmann who are a very sweet and an extremely generous and open couple. The apartment has a separate entrance and is on the top floor of the main house, we've had some beautiful sunsets in our loungeroom... It has two bedrooms and a couch in the loungeroom, so would be suitable for a family to stay in.
Werner speaks good English and was born in Rothenburg, so he can tell you some interesting stuff about the town and how it developed. He is also a painter and many of his works decorate the walls of the apartment which adds more charm...
We were even offered to stay for additional night free of charge, the offer which we'd gladly have taken up, had we not had to move on to another town down the romantic road...
