WALK TO THE OLD TOWN

Drove from Mosbach and Bad Wimpfen and arrived in Rothenburg ob der Tauber early Tuesday afternoon. The first thing we did was look for a Hotel to stay as we did not make any reservations ahead. We checked out a couple of places and decided upon the GOLDENES FASS, which was about a ten minute walk to the Gates of the Old Town. It was a lovely ***Star Hotel which was 84,00 Euros for the night and included breakfast in the morning and there was free parking in the rear.
The Hotel has 35 rooms (Zimmer).
Our room was bright and clean and had one big bed with separate twin mattresses which I really liked, an en suite bath, mini-fridge and TV.
Breakfast in the morning was the usual fare of breads and rolls, with meats and cheeses and jams. Different choices of cereal including bran, muslix and corn flakes. Yogurts, fruit and boiled eggs. Coffee, tea and juices.
Overall we were very satisfied with our choice.

Hotel Goldenes Fass
For our short stay of 1-2 days we booked this inexpensive Hotel Goldenes Fass which is modest yet nice & lovely though located at a busy road & corner with much traffic. However, the hotel lies right beside the historical old town of Rothenburg so you can easily get from this hotel to Rothenburg's historical old town on foot. That's a big plus. Also to Rothenburg's center it takes a 10 mns walk only. Hotel's staff is very nice. A parking spot which is pretty comfortable is provided. Breakfast/ buffet is not fancy but really ok. Hotel's rooms are modest, very clean & cosy. Bathrooms though are (like another traveler wrote) "ridiculously small. I'm a small person and had a hard time showering in there without getting water everywhere, or slipping when I got out of the tub. Otherwise the room was very clean". We took a few shots of other lovely looking accommodations close to Rothenburg's historical old town as that is what Rothenburg is the most about.
