The hotel is rather old but charming, with cracking wooden floors and staircase but a modern elevator.
Our room was on the first floor (2nd US). It was large, had 2 comfy beds, a colour TV, telephone, a balcony overlooking the Königssee, and a tiny bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. It had a beautiful parquet floor and typical Bavarian furniture. Above all, it was VERY CLEAN!!
Good buffet breakfast included.
Lakeside, surrounded by the mountains of the Berchtesgadener area.
Romantic location, in the heart of the small village of Schönau am Königssee, with the lake at the front door. Lively during the day because the boat tours on the lake (electrical boats, no noise and environmental friendly) start just in front of the hotel. Perfectly quiet after the daytrippers have gone.
Good value for money (we paid 76 euro for a double, incl. breakfast).
Pros & cons: the location was definitely a PRO. It was extremely hot when we were there and the rooms have no A/C, so that was a CON. I would describe it if they actually gave me the room I reserved 6 months in advance and confirmed ONE week before arrival. Instead, the manager gave my room away to someone who "just showed up," and rather than sending them to another hotel, he sent me.
I recommend you find somewhere else to stay.
Ignores reservations and makes money by sending you to cheaper, inferior hotels.

Unique area, with great views to the mountains. The balcony surrounds three sides of the house. Morning and late in the evening, streching in a lounge chair and watching the mountains is great. Maria, the owner, is a nice woman. Mooslehen is great! They also have their own flier and their own post card for guest to take or stamp and send at home. That's just very nice!
