Castles in the mountains across the street!
At the end of our cruise down the Romantic Road we planned to tour Neuschwanstein. Before we got to Fussen, the road opened up with a lake on one side and the mountains on the other. We were in Schwangau and I knew I wanted to stay in theis beautiful place! The Gasthof zur Post provided a gorgeous room with a balcony view of the mountains and Neuschwanstein. I spent most of my time on the balcony, but made sure to take advantage of the HUGE sparkling bathroom and walk-in shower. The bed was terribly comfy with huge feather pillows and plushy down comforters. Breakfast (included) was also delicious and a nice start for my day visiting castles!
Unique Quality: The decor was lovely natural pine wood which made the room so clean and bright, but the patio door and balcony provided the most beautiful view.
