Haus Hanni: Great apartment, view and owners

Haus Hanni is easy to find, in a great location, right opposite from the Castle Neuschwanstein. It is located on the edge of the small village of Schwangau which is far away from the tourist centre of Hohenschwangau, but still close enough to everything you need. We stayed in Zimmer 3 on the third floor, it comprised of two double bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and living room/diner with balcony. Everything was very clean and the kitchen came with kettle, coffee machine and toaster, as well as an oven and fridge/freezer.

Unique Quality: The view from our balcony was amazing, you can find a picture of it in my photos section. There are a few houses in front of this one, but because the castle is high up, and you have the rest of the Bavarian Alps behind it, it makes one of the best views you can have in this town.

Haus Lizzi: Great location apartment to rent

We stayed in room 2 in Haus Lizzi. It was on two floors, the first floor had a kitchen, bathroom and living room and the two bedrooms were on the 2nd floor. There was a balcony off the kitchen looking over the main street of Schwangau and one off the living room which looked out onto the mountains.

The family that own it are very friendly and helpful, they speak enough English to understand you. The town is small and there are plenty of restaurants near the guesthouse and also two small supermarkets within 5 minutes walking distance.

Unique Quality: The views are amazing, there is no other buildings between the house and the mountains, just fields and cows. You can see the castle Neuschwanstein, the little church St Colomans and the Tegelberg station.

Helpfulness

Bauernhof Hiller: Cheap and clean place to stay

We really recommend this Guesthouse/farm, very friendly people, clean and a good breakfast for the price of 15 € a person.

Unique Quality: Peaceful, great views of the lake, mountains....
