"The Lake"
A 1-hour train ride southeast of Munich is the idyllic Tegernsee, an alpine lake with a lot going for it. No secret to wealthy Germans (and a favorite upper-class vacation destination), the Tegernsee can nevertheless be enjoyed perfectly well even by those who haven't won the Lotto.
"The Boats"
A fun leisure activity on a nice day is simply to take a boat around the lake. Boats depart frequently from a number of docks in Tegernsee town and elsewhere along the lake. If you're really in the mood to relax, buy a day-ticket and ride around to your heart's content.

In addition to all of the above, Tegernsee has another thing going for it: it is the site of the Tegernseer Hofbräu Brewery. The brewery restaurant is an excellent place to stop by for some lunch and a mug of some of Bavaria's tastiest beer.
