This is a 3 star hotel.
Our room was very spacious and clean.
There was no air conditioning, but we had windows on two walls so could create a pleasant draught to keep the temperature down. I dont know if other rooms are as large, we might just have been lucky.
This is the perfect place to stay in Wasserburg. We detected it only the next morning when we looked for the best place for a panoramic overview of Wasserburg. It is a nice typical Bavarian Gasthaus. The rooms are in a quality comparable to the Fletzinger in the town but the double with breakfast is only 52 EUR and you have a free and unlimited car parking.
The place is really the best to have a great view of Wasserburg which you reach from here on a short picturesque path leading down to the bridge over the river Inn where you enter the centre right at the "Altes Mauthaus"
Seen separately (without having any look at the competitors) it is just a rather expensive hotel for such a small place (we paid 88 EUR for a double with breakfast) not even offering (paid or unpaid) car parking. Our room was OK and the breakfast, too, but it is advisible to have this breakfast as early in the morning as possible (7AM) in order to avoid a parking fine at the car because from 9 AM onwards all parking in the area is strictly time limited (except on Sundays) and the lady issuing the fines is very active exactly from 9:00 AM onwards until I think 7:00 PM.
The place has no other unique qualities except being situated in the centre but that is valid for every hotel which might be in this small town. Unfortunately we found the really great place to stay only the next morning - see the next entry
Unfortunately we saw this place only the next day when we were looking for the perfect view of Wasserburg. As compared to the Fletzinger Hotel in the town this place offers rooms and breakfast in a comparable quality (but in a typical Bavarian countryside inn style, of course), unlimited free parking, a great scenic view if you ask for an off-roadside room and a rate for a double room of only 54 EUR as compared to the 88 EUR at Fletzinger. The entrance to the city centre at the old Mauthaus (Toll House) is reached on a short pleasant walk straight downhill from the Huberwirt.
The Huberwirt is at the most perfect scenic place for a view of the whole city of Wasserburg. It has also a cosy Bavarian restaurant which is closed on Fridays.
For budget travellers some cheap rooms with shower and WC down the hall are offered - with the same good breakfast. Check the website.
