Don't know what part of the Romantic Road you are visiting, but in my opinion you will find the most beautiful spots in the towns along the road like, Rothenburg, Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen, Landsberg, Schongau/Altenstadt, Steingaden/Wieskirche and Füssen with its castles and scenic alpine landscape.
happy travels

Travel Tips for Würzburg
The Virgin Mary ~ her technique revealed!!!
by aaaarrgh
By far the most amusing thing about Wurzburg is its understanding of the 'Facts of Life'. According to the church here, God fertilised the 'virgin' Mary using a verrrry long tube from heaven to ....her left ear!!! And the proof is in a sculpture above one of the doors of the Marienkapelle, on the Marienplatz. There must have been some very confused Wurzburgers during the 1500's.
So, if you are having problems conceiving a baby, maybe you need to first clean the wax from your ears!
Location: Above North door of the Marienkapelle, Marien Platz (around the corner from Tourist Information Office)

Music University
by Nemorino
The Music University (Hochschule für Musik) was founded in 1797 as the Collegium musicum academicum. It changed its name several times, and was given the status of a university in 1973.
At present they have 80 full-time and 140 part-time teachers in six departments covering all aspects of musical theory and practice.
Students and professors often give concerts which are open to the public. Admission to these concerts is often free, and never more than 10 euros. Click on the link below for their current program.
A walk around town
by Bigs
Wuerzburg is a small city and you can easily see a lot in one day..... Join me on my walk around town. I started a t the main station. The good in Wuerzburg is that there are a lot of street maps near the tram stations and so you can?t get lost really.
My first stop was the Marienplatz with it´s "Haus zum Falken". It´s got a nice fassade and you find the tourist information in here, so you can get yourself some more infos.
St. Kilian Cathedral
by Eszter
St. Kilian Cathedral is one of the main works of German architecture and the fourth largest Romanesque church in Germany.
Construction was started in 1040 and numerous additions and changes were made until the 18th century, so that Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles are visible.
Although the Cathedral was destroyed in 1945, the Baroque stuccowork in the transept and the choir were preserved. It was re-consecrated in 1967.
An impressive number of tombstones inside the Cathedral includes the period of the 12th to the 20th centuries.
An artistic highlight is Riemenschneider's tombstone for the Princebishop Scherenberg. Connected to the Cathedral is the Schonborn Chapel, designed by Balthasar Neumann.
Special tours are available to groups on request.
