What to do in Bremen for 2 days??
HI!!
Greetings from Malaysia...
I will be in Bremen on Sept 27 for 2-3 days. Can someone suggest what I should do in Bremen for the entire duration and places to see? Or should I take a day trip to Hamburg or any nearby interesting city? Regarding places to stay, any recommendation for a mid range hotel of around 100-150 euros and should I stay in Old Town?? Thanks for the tips!!

www.booking.com is a good place to look for hotels in Germany. Reliable, with sound guest reviews and used by many VT-ers.
I haven't visited Bremen, but I'd suggest you don't plan for a daytrip until you are there. If you find that one day is enough then go elsewhere.if not, stay.
You don't need to book train tickets in advance so you can just buy them when/if you decide to go.
http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml
will give you train times, details and fares in English. Hamburg (a pleasant city, as I recall) is about an hour, one-way fare from 20.80 euro. Hannover would be an alternative, again around an hour, fares about the same.

Two days in Bremen can be filled with sightseeing:
Townhall with Roland, Cathedral with Lead Cellar, Boettcherstrasse, Schnoor Quarter, Schlachte alongside river Weser, Buergerpark.
If you are interested in science, you could see Universum Bremen:

If you happen to stay for three days, yes, go and see Hamburg.
Sorry can't help with the hotel, but there are few within Old Town, and none of them seem to be mid range. Perhaps take a look at Hotel Bremer Haus.

Thanks for the info...my hotel booking is well taken care of..will let u know where I will stay later on..actually I am here in Bremen for a business appointment so thought I take off for a day or so to relax before returning home.

Go on the 75 min. boat tours from the Martini Anleger in the middle of town. It's really nice to be on the river. They run until Sept. 30th. See my page on the subject.
