Football game of Werder Bremen in the Weserstadion
by joernme
If you have the chance and like great football and good atmosphere - visit a game of one of Europes finest football teams in their newly renovated Weserstadion (directly at the riverfront close to the city center). If everything goes well, in May 2004 Werder Bremen will be the newly crowned German Champion. So cross your thumbs or better come here and cheer with us!
Cruise the ports
by joernme
Cruising the ports is especially nice, because you don't only see ports as everything is smaller than in Bremerhaven, Hamburg or even Rotterdam. You also have some city scenery and it really is a relaxing and fun cruise. Since Bremen has outsourced its big container activities to Bremerhaven a cruise there at the Weser-Delta is much more impressvie port-size wise, though.
Go to the riverfront at the end of the Boettcherstrasse and you will get right to the Martini-Anleger, where the boats go.
Ramazzotti
by sabsi about Ramazzotti
Very nice basement restaurant which looks more like a nightclub than like a restaurant. Very good value, prices are low - especially for a place in the Schnoor! Tagliatelle della Sabina (!). With chicken and peppers in red pepper sauce - very tasty! The Bruschetta is nice to start with!
Boettcherstrasse

This architectural rarity was created in the city centre by Bernhard Hoettger in the 1920s. You can find medieval cathedrals, richly decorated town halls, and lots of half-timbered buildings on narrow streets, but I find something like this hard to find and easy to appreciate.
Say "Moin Moin" to Roland - Our Statue of Liberty
by joernme
He is the tallest man in Bremen (over 5 m high) and is in his place since 1404, standing for justice and liberty in Bremen. I hope he does his job well. Some politicians from Southern Germany doubt there is enough reason to keep our little state and independent one. I just talked to Roland again last week and he also is of the opinion these guys don't know what they are talking about. After the second beer I offered him he laughed out lout that he sure will take his job seriously for the next 600 years, too. He's a great guy....
