Hello again. I will fly in to Bremen this weekend and stay at the Courtyard/Marriott on Theodor-Heuss-Alle 2. Which tram should I start with to get to the market place/tourist sections? Also which tram should I take to get to the nightlife/red light district? Thanks again
Your hotel is directly behind the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) seen from the Altstadt (old city).

You could travel by tram from the Hauptbahnhof to Domsheide (served by many tram lines). This is however also a walkable distance.

I would walk. There is absolutely no need to walk in Bremen's city centre. It is very compact, all the major attractions within easy walking distance.
Sorry! I wrote: "There is no need to walk in Bremen's city centre." I meant to say that there is no need to take the tram, car, or whatever.
Visit the Dom-church in the Altstadt. The outside already shows the glamour of former days, but inside the true beauty lies: a very colourful and light splendour. In the crypte are graves of mighty men out of Bremen's history, in graves or ... as lead mummies. Underneath the cityhall is a restaurant with very romantic privat chambres.
The stadium of Bremen where the well-known team plays football is the best stadium where it was spent SV BSZS in 1999-2006.
During these years we saw stadiums of Karlsruhe, Düsseldorf, Ulm, Oberhausen. But all of them concede to the Bremen stadium.
Buy a Niedersachsen pass and you can travel anywhere from 9am to 3pm the NEXT day for 28 euros on Metronom trains. The ticket includes the possibility of travelling to Hamburg (which isn't Niedersachsen).
I was quite surprised to see a windmill in the centre of Bremen. This Dutch Windmill at Wallanlagen near the centre is the last remaining of the originally eight windmills of the 17th and 18th centuries. Nowadays it houses a café.
City hall. Inside are many reminders of the glorious days of the Hanze-treaty. The hall is fully restored after the heavy bombing in second worldwar that destroyed large parts of the whole citycentre. Inside various rooms show the domain of the 'Hanze', in which Bremen had a prominent place, together with Hamburg.
