Grünkohl/ Braunkohl (kale)
by himalia11
When you go to North Germany in winter, you will see quite a lot of restaurants serving dishes with kale. In German kale is called "Grünkohl" (green cabbage), but Bremen has a different name for it: "Braunkohl" (brown cabbage). I was very confused about this as kale is green and not brown! Anyway you can get all kind of different dishes with kale which is really interesting as we don't have this in restaurants where I live.
Also in North Germany there's a whole culture around kale. They have "kale tours" where a group of people makes a longer walk to a restaurant where they eat kale. To make that walk more fun the do some games on their walk also, and they take a handcart with alcoholic drinks with them. It's something typically done in autumn or winter, as that's the season for this vegetable.
Glockenspiel
by lil_traveller
In between the buildings, you can walk a short but from the city and there will be a glockenspiel that plays at 12 and at other certain times. We found it and there was a huge crowd gathered. It plays for like 10mins and very nice music.
Delicius pasta
by Turska about Pizza Pazza
They had lots of different pastas, and all of them you could order owen-baked with mozzarella. It is not a diet-food that way,but sooo good, and sometimes you have to let yourself eat unhealthy! They also had good looking tiramisu, but we were to full to taste it.
There was quite quiet, but I hope they will have more customers, because we will certainly go here again,if we go to Bremen.
I allmost wet my mouth writing this. Those of you,who know me,won´t get surpriced..My favourite was spaghetti aglio e olio(=with garlic and chili and oliveoil)and now I got it owenbaked.I would love melted cheese on many things,if it wouldn´t be too unhealthy..
My husband had pasta bolognese owenbaked-good also,he said.
Two owenbaked pastas with two big weatbeers was 25e!!!So cheap!

The Town Hall of Bremen is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. It is claimed to be one of the most beautiful Town Halls in Germany. It was constructed between 1405 and 1410 and has a beautiful Weser Renaissance style facade. Its definitely beautiful. Its just at the Market Square, at walking distance from the Center railway station.
OLD QUARTER OF SCHNOOR
by Sininen
Schnoor has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bremen and for a reason too. Its
medieval network of winding alleys and narrow streets are simply fascinating. It used to be populated by river fishermen, artisans and traders. Today there are exclusive shops, nostalgic pubs, restaurants and cosy caf?s. Its history goes back to the 13th century.
