Weihnachtsmarkt
by lutxu
It is a Christmas Market, very typical in any city in Germany, where people like meeting after they 're done with work, to eat and drink something with their friends.
Booths with food, beverages, sweets, crafts and many other things can be found. It is a good place to buy the Christmas Decoration you were looking for.
It is interesting to see how much Germans enjoy getting together in the streets during this time before Christmas with their friends and relatives despite the low temperatures there might be. But well, I guess their trick is to drink a bit of "Glühwein" (hot wine) before getting freezed between beer and beer.
I would recommend to anybody going to Germany during Nov-December, just before Christmas, to see these markets.
Stadtwaage Mansion
by joernme
The Stadtwaage is a bit off the Market square at the Langenstr. 13 (leaving the market square in the back right corner). Here were goods weighted in former times coming from the port, such as coffee, cotton etc. The house dates back to 1588 and has a wonderful renaissance facade.
Beergarden
by bonio about Feldmann's bierhaus
A warm late summer evening and a visit to the beergarden next to the river, Haake - Beck beer and a tasty flammkuchen, lovely way to pass the time.
Inside looks pretty good too, I'm sure that I would enjoy a visit there as well.
Rathaus
by barryg23
In the 3 towns we visited - Hamburg, Bremen and Luceck - we saw 3 famous Rathaus and thhis one in Bremen was my favourite of the lot. The building dates from medieval times, though much of the exterior was added in the 17th century. Unlike many famous German buildings and monuments, the Rathaus was not destroyed in WW2.
Boat tour of the city...
by lil_traveller
For a few Euro's, you can purchase a ticket to go on quite a large boat tour of the city and see lots of things. The trip is about over an hour. I saw the Becks company, and the kellogs company. We also saw a rocket ship.
