Visit the "Michel"
Hamburg's Michaeliskirche is surprisingly pretty for the north of Germany, which is not so known for beautiful churches. It is without a doubt Hamburg's most famous church, to be found close to the city center and the harbour.

Your hotel is near the stop Gänsemarkt.

Of course. How should the people reach the trains at Hauptbahnhof otherwise?
Thank You so much for the info

scarpovino is a unique shop lying right on the street side of Susannenstrasse. While walking down the road one day I noticed the window of the shop and was surprised to see shoes and wine kept there. This is what I learnt on enquiry. This is a shop that sells shoes and wine, not necessarily to same customers and not that you have to buy shoes if you buy wine. The shop owner finds this curious mixture of product profitable to him. I can think of some possibilities though, say a customer buys shoe at a good bargain and so celebrates that with a bottle of wine, or may be, a person who gets too drunk and loses his shoes in the street ..etc..etc. Thats curious indeed. But I liked taking this photo though, and definitely I'll remember this shop all my life. Good trick.
The best view over the habour you have from the Tower Bar. At the beginning of the Reeperbahn (Millerntorplatz) just walk left and at the end left again. Go in the hotel Hafen Hamburg, drive to the top, and just enjoy!
The decor and ambiance is "Jamaican island sugar shack". The food is a colorful mix of Carribean, Central American, and Euro influences and absolutely delicious. The patrons remind you of the same friendly crowd you'd discover maybe on an eco expedition in the Florida Keys or Costa Rica. They come to this restaurant to get a nice warm feeling of all things tropical and sympathic and to be open to new experiences. The chef, Max Reichle, is a native of Honduras and expertly weaves Latin-Carribbean cuisines together with German sensibilty (for example, sharp pepper laced dishes like Jamaican Jerk Chicken are VERY toned down for a population not familiar with incredibly spicy foods). You can have a choice of everything from soup to salad, meat to vegetarian dishes, many offering a choice of regular and small portions. Prices range from euro 5-13 for appetizers and soups. Salads (like Crispy Avacado and Mango Salad)range from euro 6 up to 12,50 (Max's Treaure Salad w/ grilled chicken breast and fried Yuca in Lime Vinaigrette). Fish and other entrees range from euro 11 (small portion) to 17,- ...all in all, if you are a fan of Carribbean food this is one of the most delightful restaurants in Hamburg. The only drawback is that it's location is far outside the city center on the edge of chic Eimsbuttel, towards dreary Barmbek, the latter of which is my idea of Hamburg's version of a "kinder, gentler" N.Y. style Bronx neighborhood. Best recomended as a dinner venue to explore with friends who are native to Hamburg (and maybe have a car), as the travel time by train is more or less 40 minutes from wherever your hotel is likely to be, and your taxi ride about 20 euro each way. Still worth the trip, though! Veggie choice: "Mix Veggie" -plate of mixed vegetables in coconut milk over rice w/ banana chips and yuca
Pasta: "Mangrove Sunshine" -fettucine topped w/ Cajun grilled scampi in a firey scotch bonnet tomato sauce
Entrees: "Red Snapper Filet"-sauteed filet w/ Bajun spices, rice, coconut-ginger vegetables, & maracuja sauce
"Rasta Spicy Chicken Man" -grilled chicken in coconut pinapple sauce with vegerables & chutney
Special: "Carribbean Dream Plate" (For 2)- grilled chicken breast, Argentinian steak, scampi, and red mullet
with fried yuca, coconut veggies, and an assortment of sauces -(approx. euro 30 for two)
Desert: "Spezial Desert"- weekly Carribean style tart created by the chef's sister-in-law
it may be far and a bit out of the way, but the food and the lovely personality of everyone who works here makes it very much worth the trek (especially if you have a designated driver)!
Binnenalster is my favourite spot in Hamburg, a lake in the centre of Hamburg! It’s so relaxing when I go there and we just walk near the lake, you can walk around the lake. It’s nice in the night too to visit the area and have a drink. It’s perfect to sit there and just watch the calming water, the inhabitants of the lake which are the swans of course and the numerous small boats that do small tours.
There are many hotels (with great view over the lake) and restaurants around. I never visited Hamburg during winter but it must be nice too when the lake is frozen and the people go there for ice skating!
Binnen Alster(inner) is connecter with the Outer lake (which is much larger) through Kennedy and Lombard bridges.
The lake is just some meters away from Rathaus(townhall) if you want to visit both sites
