Apartment Style Accommodation
Our room was more of a medium sized hotel bedroom with small kitchenette attached. It's hard to call it an apartment, even though that was how it was described to us. That said, it was very nice, and a good deal compared to what else there was on offer in Hamburg at the time. The place is clean, bright and modern, and the service is fantastic. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, giving us a full explanation of the area and helping us figure out what we wanted to do with our time.
The biggest downside to this hotel, however, is the location. It's quite a way from the centre, although it's about 5-800m from 3 stations (2 u-bahn and 1 s-bahn) so you can easily be in the town within about 30 minutes of leaving the hotel. It's not a particularly nice location, green but a bit downmarket. It is conveniently located for shops, however, with a major shopping street by the one u-bahn stop, and a 24-hour Rewe supermarket near the other.
