the picture below shows a graffiti on a housewall in St. Georg that says: Hamburg sprüht vor Leben (Hamburg spays for Life which means Hamburg is very alive) Btw. St Georg is a burning point of the city with lot of drug addicted people and a great scene of gays and lesbians.
Levantehaus
by nepalgoods
The meaning of the word Levante is: towards the sunrise. The house was build 1911/12 by Franz Bach as an office building for the Levante Shipping Company. During WWII the building was completely destroyed but 1948 to 1950 rebuildt. It shows the decorations of Art Deco. Very special!!!
Today it houses about 40 shops, which offer high quality food and fashion. There are few restaurants and cafes. Everything is quite expensive here. But the atmosphere is spectacular.
Levante Haus is not far from Main Trainstation, in the heart of Hamburg's shopping malls. The adress is Moenckebergstrasse
There is also the Park Hyatt Hotel in this building, a very luxurious hotel

Calm Oasis in Schanzenviertel
by chris.hh about Café unter den Linden
This is a nice cafe. In summer you can sit on the terrace under high Linden trees which is almost very romantic. Also breakfast is supposed to be very good there. It's not situated right in the middle of the busy and hip part of Schanzenviertel, so a cozy and calm atmosphere, perfectly for a free summer afternoon...
Rathaus
by Ines28
This Renaissance built town hall is really very impressive and most beautiful. In front of it is a large market square from which you can admire the building from various directions.
It is also centrally located.
