We have lots of 'Moves' in Hamburg during the summer.
G-Move, Love Parade and Schlager Move. This picture shows me and my sister and some of her friends at the Schlager-Move at the 19th September 2000. It was my sisters birthday and we had a good time.
A man from the Pixelnet company asked if he can make a picture from us and some days later he mailed it to me.
Town of Musicals
by Antji about Musicals
Hamburg is very popular to visit a musical. In early times there are the popular musicals " Cats" and " Phantom of the opera". At the moment you can choose between "Mamma mia" (music of ABBA), "King of the Lion" and "Tanz der Vampire". I was in the last one and the music - show there great. This one is in the area Altona near the Holsten Brewery.
Public Transport
by sabsi
Hamburg has a great local transportation network. There's S- and U-Bahn trains you can easily get everywhere with. S-Bahns are divided into 1st and 2nd class. Don't even think about getting a 1st class ticket - the 1st class looks about the same as the 2nd class!
If there is more of you - make sure to buy a day ticket for groups (up to 5 people!). It costs 7.40 EURO and that's really cheap isn't it?
The Docks
by stevehallam
It was a cld wet (hung-over) morning when i walked to the Docks. It was cold and wet.
There were many tour buses parked here, so i assume this is where you would go to catch one. also there were many boats advertsing trips. I'm sure on a nicer day with a clearer head I would have took a tour and been able to tell you more.
Anyway here's a shot I took
Reeperbahn at daytime
by barbskie
Hamburg's most famous street running parallel to the harbour. Not only popular to its numerous strip bars, erotic shops and to say it short the red light district but also to those who seek and will enjoy culture. Restaurants
Theatres, musical and museums are simply there like The Beatles Museum. The production of CATS at the Oprettenhaus, has been Hamburg's reputation as Germany's musical capital.
Today, ich War Noch Nie In New York, is live on stage featuring Udo Jürgen's songs.
We experienced Reeperbahn both day and night.
First we did was with the sightseeing bus and saw more or less this famous area. Then before we left Hamburg, we went again, walking along the long road leading us to the harbor (day time) and once at night time from the harbor after a good dinner the Fischmarkt area up to Pinasberg, passing Herberstrasse to the police station David'swache then at Spielbudenplatz were we enjoyed some drinks. Finally we took the UBahn (St pauli station) back to our hotel.
I may say, it is not the Reeperbahn heard before but honestly i'm glad our exploration went smoothly :)
