Make a 'Hafenrundfahrt', a boat trip through the harbour. Take a barkasse; those smaller boats are getting into the old 'Speicherstadt' and through all the canals. The bigger ships won´t! Ships and water everywhere! Hamburg has the most bridges in Europe, not Venice!!!!
Hafenstrasse
by barryg23
On your way to Fischmarkt, not far from the Reeperbahn, you'll pass a row of rather colourful looking houses on Hafenstrasse. Residency of the houses on this street has, for a long time, been disputed between squatters and the local authorities. At one point it was even alleged that terrorists were living here.
Sophisticated Jazz Bar
by ericaj. about The Stage Club
The Stage Club, housed in the Neue Flora Theatre complex, is one of the most easily accessible jazz bars in Hamburg. Directly across the street from the Holstenstrasse subway station, It is a national and internationally recognized venue that presents jazz ranging from German composer Nils Gessinger (a favorite in the American smooth jazz arena) to vocalist Micheal Bublé and New York piano crooner Peter Cincotti. Even the German talent that make up the in-house band are seasoned recording musicians, who play internationally at such notable events as Montreux Jazz Festival, or with jazz masters such as Michael Brecker or Barry Finerty (of Miles Davis fame). In spite of the steller local or international talent you can find here on any given night, and the chic urban decor, the Stage Club is notoriously casual. Jeans and sneakers are actually allowed with no problem at all, but you wouldn't feel out of place if you wanted to wear suit jacket as a man, or high heels as a lady.
Great seafood, but always fully booked!

This restaurant located nearly at the end of the "Fish Market", also a few more choices around the square, but why you need the second best, if you find the best restaurant around!? The restaurant is decorated like a fisherman's place. Do ask for the best place in the restaurant. I saw a cabin- like table at the end of the restaurant and it has a view to the habour! Please make a reservation during weekend! The most important is the food there. As usual, I don't recommend others for any particular dishes. Everyone has his or her own taste. I'd tried the lobster soup and steamed fish......and they're excellent!
Blankenese

Blankenese is a lovely quarter full of beautiful villas and lovely old houses with thatched roofs. It is very nice to go for a walk on a Sunday morning. I started with "Hirschpark" which is a very nice park with a deer enclosure, old trees, a pond and a lot of ducks, woodpeckers and other birds. You also find the Witthüs restaurant there, which is a nice restaurant offering a brunch on Sunday mornings.
I continued with "Treppenviertel" then, a very nice part of Blankenese, with steep stairs going down to Elbstrand (a beach at river Elbe). There are so many lovely houses with nice verandas to admire - it is truly enchanting!
