The property is like a faded debutante who keeps up appearances in light of age and decline around her. It is a simple town house (no elevator) on a narrow street sandwiched between a gay bar and a Las Vegas-esque palace of a gentlemens' club. The reception area is tiny. They only have staff at the desk until around 10 pm. After that, you have to pick up your key at their sister property down the street. The magnetic access-lock worked fine during my stay for after 10 pm entries.
The desk staff was pleasant enough although a bit underprepared about how to help me in an emergency situation(my passport and money went missing somewhere well-outside the hotel after my 1st night).
The room (#26) was very fresh-looking and clean although there was a tiny spider on one of the chairs when I checked-in.
Basically, this is a convenient hotel for train passengers passing-through. It is a solid 15 minute walk to the historic center although maybe one could also take the metro faster.
Not a hotel to get excited about but serviceable nonetheless. Their sister property ('Best Western St. Raphael') had more to-it in terms of appearance and amenities.
Breakfast is served in a newly remodelled area. Decent enough but not overwhelming.
Close to the main train station. There is a free internet terminal that worked well. There was a kitchen alcove in the room.
****As of April 2009: There was some internal construction being down on the ground floor so make sure to ask since some rooms are near this****
