Wholesale shopping in Hamburg
I am visiting Hamburg next week, very intrested in visiting footwear and/or clothes wholesale areas (brand labels, department stores). Is there specific streets, areas, malls or so. Can someone please direct me...
RE: Wholesale shopping in Hamburg
There is no outlet- or sales-area in or near Hamburg, but most department-stores do have sales and most times real good offers.
Best places to shop are:
* MOENKEBERGSTRASSE & SPITALERSTRASSE (big department-stores, all brands)
* PHOENIX-CENTER in HAMBURG-HARBURG (directly at the Metro-station HARBURG)
* ELBE EINKAUFS-ZENTRUM (shopping Mall) in HAMBURG-OSDORF...
Hope, this helps You a little!

Travel Tips for Hamburg
In German we say "onion look" - many skins that you can peel off one after the other...
I guess that says everything about weather here. It does not bother if it is summer or not - there are periods when it rains a lot - even hail might happen on cool summer days. My relatives from the States could not believe that when we had to move our BBQ equipement... So Umbrella, raincoat, and take along at least a sweater even in the summer.
But it also can be great: like in summer 2006 when there was the soccer world cup. But I never experienced a summer like that before...

THURSDAY IS THE DAY... FROM EARLY AS 5.30PM THERE'S ALREADY A LARGE QUEUE.. PEOPLE LEAVE ANXIOUSLY FROM WORK ON THURSDAYS TO RE MEET THEIR COLLEAGUES FOR A DRINK AT SAUSALITOS AND WHAT A DRINK.. I DRANK.. :) AND THERE'S A SORT OF A COCKTAIL SPECIALITY TOO.. FORGOT WHAT IT WAS.. I JUST DRANK IT.. I SUGGEST YOU ASK AT THE BAR. IT' S BASICALLY A MEDIUM SIZE PLACE WITH A LONG BAR, THE DECO' IS SPANISH/LATIN STYLE AND THE MUSIC IS PURELY SAUSALITOS.. COMMERCIAL WITH THAT BIT OF SALSA ;) IT CLOSES VERY LATE ON THURSDAYS IT WAS STILL OPEN AT AROUND 1.30AM ON SATURDAYS THOUGH ITS ALMOST EMPTY AND AT AROUND 11PM ITS SOMEHOW DESERTED.. IF IN HAMBURG VISIT THE POPE.. SORRY WAS THINKING ABOUT ROME ;) VISIT THE SAUSALITOS ON A THURSDAY ... AND IF YOU WANT TO HEAR THE SOUNDS OF SAUSALITOS CHECK OUT THEIR WEBSITE CASUAL! I HAVE NOTICED THAT HAMBURG IS NO ROME WHEN IT COMES TO FASHION SO NO NEED TO BOTHER MUCH... ALSO SAUSALITOS IS MOSTLY FREQUENTED BY OFFICE PEOPLE GOING THERE STRAIGHT AFTER WORK SO IF YOU SPOT ANY VERY WELL DRESSED PEOPLE LIKE SHIRT AND TIE STUFF DO NOT PANIC .. THEY'RE ONLY COMING FROM WORK :)
planes, trains, ships/ferries...
planes, trains, ships/ferries or buses (esp. from Berlin buses are a cheap and comfortable means of travelling to HH)
anything'll take you here.
local/regional transportation is easy to use and you can get around all night long.
Hamburg is still small enough for bicycling! Being a very green city, it's also very nice to do so.
Driving cars in HH is rather frustrating, sometimes rideiing the bike is faster. You can take bikes with the subway anytime except 6-9 am and 4-6 pm.
Hagenbeck's this is very old zoo which is located in the Hamburg city , it is 100-year-old zoo is dwelling to innumerable genus of animals, a humid hub,

This famous event requires setting your alarm clock to a very early hour. Every Sunday morning the market takes place on the quay of Altona. It begins at 5 a.m., if you come at 7 a.m. you are already too late.
The market sells not only fish but also lots of other stuff – one stall has potted flowers, another fruit, noodles, sausage... It is known for the barkers competing – who is the loudest? – and selling bags or baskets filled with an assortment of their respective merchandise for a fixed price: a basket full of fruit, half a dozen pot plants, or a huge bag of different kinds of smoked and canned fish for 10 €. They pack and sell the full bags as they are – you have no choice what they put in. Selecting and buying one single fish or whatever is not possible either. A bargain if you can deal with huge amounts and are not too picky about quality.
I’d say the merchandise is generally all right and trustworthy (food control is strict in this country) but do not expect first class products.
