Hamburg by boat
by andrea.d
No trip to Hamburg is complete without a boat trip on the Alster. The simplest option is the "tour of the Alster". One of the white characteristic boats takes youright round the lake. Then you have the classic "Alster cruise" where nine stops are made between the Jungfernstieg and the Winterhuder Fahrhaus and back again. The whole trip lasts around two hours. Then there are "Fleet trips" from the Alster via the Schaartor Lock into the Speicherstadt, duration is approx. 2 hours. There are also "canal trips".
Prices: round trip is 8 euro, Fleete trip 13 euro, canal trip 11 euro. Children pay half-price.

A bunker from WWII with lots of graffiti
by Rupanworld
When I went to Susannenstrasse and Schanzenviertel (Schanzen quarter), I came across this curious building and I was told by my friend that this is actually a bunker from the days of World War II. It is designed with a lot of graffiti and I really liked that. One can also test one's rock climbing skills here as the person in the first photo is doing. The environment was calm and I really liked whatever it was. Nice experience.

Telecommunication tower
by unexplored
With its impressive 271.5 meters the telecommunication tower of the German Telekom with distance towers above all other buildings in Hamburg. Even without the antenna it measures 204 meters.
In order to be able to enjoy the fantastic view, one takes the elevator 130 meters up to the prospect pulpit, or a floor higher, in the panorama restaurant. Since the restaurant is on a turntable, one can enjoy the view over the city here quite relaxed with coffee and cake, and see everything, without having to crane one's neck.
The TV tower, or "Tele Michel", how it is called, was built for 1965-1968 by Fritz Trautwein and Fritz Leonhardt. It is officially called Heinrich Herz tower and is dedicated to the Jewish physicist Heinrich Rudolf Herz (1857-1894), who discovered the electromagnetic waves for radio transmissions.
