This small design hotel consists of four buildings, the red, blue, yellow and green house, each one individually designed. Nice garden, library, friendly staff. Close to many restaurants, bars and the centre.
We'd stayed here before and and so knew that this is a nice independent hotel in a pleasant part of the city. It comprises four buildings on the same street - The main "Red" building (see main photo), the "Blue" building, and the "Yellow" and "Green" buildings, which are connected by a courtyard (see additional photos). All are converted apartment buildings except the "Green" building, which is modern purpose built duplex units (see below).
Last time we stayed here (Jul 05) we were with friends and had no problems recommending the hotel.
Because working in London is stressful at the best of times, and because we were flying out of LHR we allowed ourselves to be talked into booking junior suites at EUR135/night. This is more than we'd normally pay, but we felt the rooms were value for money. These were in the "Green" Building (see additional photos), and were all modern duplexes with trendy concrete finishes and minimalist furnishings. Really comfy bed, and a fab bathroom (which was huge). While the split level living space wasn't that large the hotel had made good use of the space. Nice to have a balcony too!
Quiet street close to the Aussen Aalster and good local restaurants.
