Marbles and Wood ... :)
Well, if u r used to high-tech in Hotels, thats not suitable for u, but the interior of this hotel is a must see ... Tons of marbles and woods, chandeliers, giant couches, long and big reception area, well lighted Lobby is fascinating ...
Hotel is very centrally located, opposite of Main Railway Station, between the Art Hall and the German Theater. So, its so easy if u arrive w train to Hamburg, just cross the main street and u r at the Hotel ... Lots of taxis waiting in front of the railway station on 24/7 basis, so, need to call and wait for a cab anytime. The shopping streets and nightlife is in walking distance.
That was the good part, but as to be honest, although its so nice, the rooms especially need a good renovation, carpets and bathroom shall be refurbished ... Big in size rooms, well heated in the winter, so no probs, but as said, should be replaced w some new basic furnitures ...
Breakfast room makes u feel as u r in a palace and castle, such shiny, silver and full glass, well sorted buffet .... I used the wifi several times, sometimes slow, but well enough to check ur emails ...
Due to perfect location and good staff service, still very recommendable Hotel ....

SO SO CLOSE ... & WITH A TOUCH OF CLASS
Established since 1910, The Maritim Reichshof still offers comfortable accommodation, the luxury of a renowed Hotel and still retains a classical touch throughout.
It is centrally located, almost exactly opposite Haupthbanhof (The main station) and between the Art Hall and the German Schauspielhaus (The German Theater).
Transportation and moving around is very easy, Taxi stands are exactly opposite the hotel, the main station is also opposite and bus stops are also close.
It is also ideal for both business trips and leisure trips for its position makes it very easy for both business people as it is close to the hub where all the businesses are and also it is very close to (and surrounded by) shops, restaurants & bars while it is also close to Hamburg's main attarctions for those on holiday or maybe also on business who doesn't want to miss on Hamburg's must see!
The rooms are clean and spacious. The continental buffet breakfast is also good and the breakfast room is full of classical charm ... & most likely business men..
The staff are also helpful.
