Hello!
I am posting this here for a wider view/response, Any tips for a decent 3 star (Euro 50-70) hotel in Berlin? should be centrally located with decent rooms, am leaving for Germany on 15 June so dont have much time, there is a wide variety on the net & its kind of confusing, so any one with any suggestions/experience would be helpful.
I just spent a few days in Berlin. This time we stayed in the Hotel Kima near Ku'damm. Very friendly staff, nice and clean rooms and not expensive at all.Because it was the busiest weekend of the year, they were more expensive than usual - they actually apologized for this! -. We paid 70 Euro for a single, usually it's about 50.

I usually stay in the Etap Hotel in Anhalterstrasse. Price 55 Euro per room, breakfast extra. The hotel is close to Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie, within walking distance to Friedrichstrasse, Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor.
Google "etap hotel anhalter strasse" and the link will take you directly to the hotel page.
Thank you! am on the job checking both, suits me fine either way, also(so sorry), i need some help for hotels in Munich as well ! Same range, 50-70 Euros.. any tips, thnx a million:)
Have look at Motel One, they are quite cute with a little designer touch in the furniture and generally around 50+ Euro. Munich has three of them in various areas of the city.

There also is an Etap option, however quite outside.
The same holds true for the B&B hotels, though they are quite on the cheap side: http://www.hotelbb.de/opencms/en/index.html
This place is close to the university and Ludwigstrasse (very central). The costs range from 48 (single no ensuite bath) to 100 (double with ensuite bath). Breakfast included.
