Go to the Fischmarkt on Sunday morning. It begins very early--around 6:30. At about 10am, the market is winding down! Getting anywhere this early on a Sunday was very difficult for me so I often went on Sunday immediately after being out on Saturday night.The view from the S-Bahn of the city and the Innenalster from the Kennedy Bridge, the fireworks over the Elbe River on New Year's eve, and sitting in the sunshine in Planten un Blomen right near the Dammtor station.
