Hi,
maybe you might check the website of the following. Maybe they have concerts that are interesting for you. I also wrote some notes to the locations in my tips – if you like to have a look on that. Not that many yet but a start;-)(http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/ccf94/dca0/5/)
Have a nice stay!
Chris

Travel Tips for Hamburg
White Christmas
by nepalgoods
Well, we won't have a white Christmas this year (2004). Just recently I have read in a newspaper, that only one year out of ten brings a white christmas in Hamburg. Must be the oceanic climate. In 2005/2006 we had the longest winter, that I can remember with lots of snow and about 5 cold and dark months.
Elbe Beach and Old Swede
by Kathrin_E
The Elbe beach at Övelgönne (practise to pronounce the Umlaut;-))) is a popular meeting point among Hamburgers. Only some very tough people actually go swimming. However, the sand and pebble ground is perfect for putting up the barbecue and chilling out with friends.
In case you spot an Australian flag on the beach, this is the local Australia Stammtisch having their monthly barbie meeting. Please say hi from me…
Note the big rock on the beach. It is an erratic block, transported here by the glaciers of the ice age and recently unearthed during digging works in the shipping lane of the Elbe. Due to its presumably North-European origins it has become known as the “Old Swede”.
Pub in Granpa's Living Room...
by chris.hh about Zoé 2
Something different is the sofa pub in between Sternschanze/Feldstraße. When I was there with my young cousins they started laughing - hey lets start a pub in Grandpa's living-room... It really is some special, and very popular. It looks cool beause it a big room and full with old sofas - but the whole atmosphere is little grungy - you have to like this, also I would not really recommend the washroom. But this often is pretty mean in many pubs in St. Pauli.
If you like dark atmosphere you also can take the second zoes which on the other side of the small street. It has little more design and is completely dark and black sofas.
Address is Neuer Pferdemarkt 17
If you feel hungry there is a smal falafel restaurant some houses further (on the cobbled street) - Azeitona - they have very fair priced oriental food, but rather a snack point than a restaurant.
Address: Beckstraße 17-19
Brasilian Specialities
by nepalgoods about Panthera Rodizio
This restaurant is in an area in Hamburg, where there are many nice Portuguese and Brasilan restaurants. Rodizio is a very big restaurant, which wants to give you the impression of an Brasilian Rancho.
Caipirinha, Gaucho-music and tons of grilled meat: it is a fantastic atmosphere!
St. Nikolai-Kirche - a memorial against the war
by globetrott
St.Nikolai in the centre of Hamburg has the 3rd highest church-spire in Germany (after Cologne and Ulm). The church was almost completely destroyed in 1944, but the spire had survived !
The church dates back to the year 1195 but in 1842 it burned down and was rebuilt again.
Today it is mainly a memorial against the war and under the former church you may enter a small museum, explaining the history and also the sad end of that formerly beautiful church.
A modern lift will take you up the spire for a great view over the city of Hamburg and its port. Don't miss it , when the weather is sunny and clear, unfortunately I had just rain...
