SCHANZENSTERN: HOTEL WITH A BIO-RESTAURANT.

The HOTEL / HOSTEL is situated in a quiet area in the heart of the city near the CONGRES HALL.

There are singel, double, 4 and 5 beds rooms and rooms equipped for invalid, handicapped travellers.

Special prices for backpacker, groups and families.

Near the Railway station ALTONA is a second hotel of this company.

The bio-restaurant: is the eldest in Hamburg.

They use fresh biological bio-products, everything as fresh as possible...

You can have dinner there and there is a Menu.

You can get coffee with home made bio-cake and on Sundays there is the possibility to have a nice BRUNCH!

It sounds great! And not too expensive.....

15 minutes by taxi away from the Airport

a 10 minutes' drive with Bus 6 (stop Zimmer/Karl-strasse) from the Main Railway station

and definately a great place to stay!

This is a nice, not huge, hotel in a JUGENSTIL VILLA with all mod.cons. of course.

The ambiance must be great, service will be very friendly and personal and it is situated only 10 steps away from the AUSSENALSTER (Lake) in a quiet area....
I have seen the hotel from the outside only and can tell you that it must be PERFECT in every respect!

Their prices are including a sumptuous breakfast and free parking.

"Wir freuen uns auf Ihren Besuch" and yes, I do believe that!

Very modern, very stylish, very minimalistic! I found some areas a little to dark and cold, but overall a very nice place to stay. Wonderful bathrooms! Great breakfast! Bamboo everywhere and single orchids in huge vases, fancy furniture...

And good location close to Dammtor train station, the G?nsemarkt and metro.

The area around the Hauptbahnhof is certainly NOT a good place to stay for a family with children, who might wonder, what the many drug-addicts or prostitues are doing there all day and night...
East of the Hauptbahnhof only Kirchenallee + Hachmannplatz and SteintorPLATZ are still good adresses to stay in a hotel.
The rest of St Georg, Adenauerallee, Steindamm, Bremer Reihe, Hansaplatz etc. will have many rather cheap hotels and hostels, BUT I may not recommend them for families and single women travelling alone.
For men I dont see any problem, as long as you stay away from the drug-addicts. This area is not really under police-control all day long...

Reeperbahn has some cheap and rather popular hotels, like Hotel Stern, it is in the very centre of the "sinful area", but at least under police-control, so you will not be in danger and you are really close to many great theatres !
