 | Germany Reviews | Tips 271 - 280 of 334 | | The Swisshotel, just a few steps off the Kudamm, is perfectly located to use as a base to explore Berlin. Modern, clean, efficient yet friendly, the hotel's service, facilities and amenities are second to none. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone. Located in a quietish business/residential area, shops and restaurants are close by. Access to transport couldn't be easier - Zoo station is less than 5 minutes walk away.

On our first day of travel to Italy we left home rather late. We had an idea of where we would spend the night but somehow we kept on driving and ended up in Kassel at 23.30 pm. We had a little discussion wether we would get a room or stay in the caravan for the nigth but finally got a room so the caravan and car were at a safe parking spot. The room only was for 2 people but we brought our airbeds in and slept like babies for a good 6 hours and paid only for one room.
Safe parking spot for car/caravan. Polite staff that even helps you on saving some money. Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Up the hill, outskirts of KasselDirections: Follow the big sign.

This small hotel tucked away on a small street in Charlottenburg is part of the group of design/boutique hotels that seem to be sprouting up like mushrooms around the world. Unlike big chain hotel like Best Western, Ibis(part of the Accor Hotels), or Hilton these hotels go more for design touches and originality over large rooms, pools or minibars. This one is no exeption as our room was maybe half the size of the Hilton Hotel we stayed in Earlier in the week. The hotel's gimmick is that it is mostly blue with blue furniture in the bar/lobby and a bathroom done up in blue tiles. Sadly the design touches end there. If the rest of the hotel room was as good as the bathroom which was excellently designed with a sliding door so as not to hit the toilet and a large shower with three heads that did wonders to massage away tired muscles after walking throughout city. The blue tiles also made me want to do the same if I have the money to remodel a bathroom. The room itself was pretty generic Ikea like furniture with nothing special other than everything being small. Pity anyone with lots of clothes as the wadrobe/dresser had only one drawer and lessthan 10 hangers. There were a few shelves above the TV which if you are 6 feet tall you could use. The Breakfast was excellent. Not sure of the price as it was bundled with the room price but had an amazing selection of food including made to order eggs and bacon. They also serve it very late for those who stayed up way to late. The room also comes with a small frig that has a complementary soda, water, tonic, coke and orange drink. For those traveling during the week this would be a great hotel but on weekends the neighborhood is dead so have to go far to get to the lively clubs and bars unlike the Arena hotel in Amsterdam that has a lively club as part of its complex or the Standard in LA with it ultra cool bar. Thus in summary for fans of design hotels this hotel is average. For most though better off saving some money and staying in an Ibis.
All blue tiled bathroom with 3 showerheads. Glassed doored elevator and unique artwork on corridor walls Leave a Comment Theme: HotelPrice: US$120-180 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Bleibstrasse 31Phone: 884 740Directions: Charlottenburg 5 blocks away from Savignplatz S-BahnWebsite: www.bleibtreau.com Other Contact: www.designhotels.com

Great 1000 year old castle hotel. Be sure to ask for an old room, some are new additions and lack the castle feel. Be sure to ask about the ghost that haunts at midnight. Leave a Comment Theme: OtherComparison: about averageAddress: Colmberg (18 km from Rothenburg odT)Other Contact: (09803) 9 19 20

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Comfy beds, good breakfast buffet, small pool in the cellar and a good, central location. If you come by bike, they have repair kits and storage room. Just ask for a room in the corridor with a lift if you need one, as one staircase is without one. You can read a lot more on my Nürnberg page.
Cheaper if booked through the Nürnberg tourist website. Leave a Comment

Around the fistival are a lot of campgrounds. The festival is from Friday till Sunday but to be close to the festivalground you have to be there on Thursdaymorning for the best places... Is a good option to be there on wednesday and thurday because the atmosphere is very good and its a lot of fun to meet people and drink with them all night long ;)
