by RioRosie We had a deluxe room on the first floor of this beautiful antique hotel. The hotel was was lovely; the location was superb; the staff was topnotch. However, we were across the street from a magnificent old church...which chimed every quarter hour. Light sleepers should know about this. Please note: it was a lovely summer day/night, so our windows were open. I can't honestly say if having the windows closed would have made a difference.
Built in the 16th century, obviously remodeled and modernized without sacrificing any of the charm. The location makes it a comfortable walk to anywhere and everywhere. Theme: HotelPrice: US$180 and up » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than average

by Terrajarret The staff was friendly, young and spoke great English. There is a fair combination between students and partying hostelers. It's quiet enough a night to sleep and lievely enough during the day to meet people. The cafeteria offeres a good Breakfast to get you on your day. Linens are provided. Very clean bathrooms.
The best thing about this hostel is location. It's not only within the city walls, but it's located in part of the Kaiserburg Castle. The rooms for the most part have an amazing view of the city. It IS at the top of a hill that can be rather meanacing after a llong night out however.

by Olaf_Janssen Nice view because it is situated at Mont Royal. A little mountain in a curve of the Mosel. There is a supermarket. you can get some wood for the fireplace. The swimmingpool isn't big. You will find a bigger one in Traben Traarbach. Theme: OtherAddress: Kröv at the MoselOther Contact: www.landal.nl

NH Weinheim by Gluhwein Very German modern, businessman's hotel. Rooms are much like American motels: TV, safety deposit box, actual double beds, free parking lot, sauna and exercise room, minibar and clock radio. Spacious, comfortable bar with big screen TV for watching European Soccer Championships. What else could you ask for in a 4 star hotel? The catch is that it is truly in the middle of nowhere. It's in a residential medium rise apartment area. Tyler, Chris and I walked a good 10 minutes until we found the first business of any kind - a gas station. It took us 35 minutes to walk into the nearest town, Weinheim. Other than some stores, nothing there either. I would recommend this hotel only to those with their own car and those willing to splurge at over $100 per night.
Best breakfast buffet of entire 30 day trip: 8 different fruit juices, four trays of various cold cuts, four different cheeses, scrambled egss, three kinds of sausages, properly cooked bacon, soft-boiled eggs, big table of rolls, pretzels and breads, hash browns, coffees, hot chocolate, whole table with fresh fruits, yogurt and four or five different cereals. To the students credit, I didn't see any packing their backpacks with food to go, even though I was definitely tempted. by vbede We spent a week at this quiet gasthof outside of Nuremburg and it was a wonderful stay. The gasthof has 8 rooms at very affordable prices and the breakfasts were excellent. The Reichinger family is extremely hospitable and even know a bit of English for the German language challenged. Dinner is also served at the hotel including many excellent Franconian dishes.
Great breakfast and proximity to a castle on the other side of the accomodation.
