Gasthof Hotel Zum Pflug by b1bob The last night of my second trip to Europe (1987), we stayed at the Gasthof-Hotel Zum Pflug. This hotel is at the top of the hill in the Black Forest. This was a nice change from the urban hotels in Frankfurt or Munich. The hotel restaurant served a continental breakfast which consisted of hard rolls, jelly, and coffee. If it weren't our last night I would have wanted to stay a week.
The rooms have a private balcony and the bedsheets were of down (duck feathers, for those in Roxboro). by LysDor Stay at Gasthofs in Bavaria! When visiting Bavaria and Berchtesgaden there is this hotel called Hotel-Gasthof Nutzkaser that is relatively nearby. I didn't have any reservation made in advance nor did I knew where I was going to stay. So I kept driving around until I found this hotel on the hill close to farm houses so that you can see cows returning back every evening! Superb service – Gemütlichkeit Theme: Other

The view from our room by diver-x We enjoyed Pension Becker, in Rothenburg, very much! Pictured is the view from our room. Single room with shower/WC 28,00 EURO - 31,00 EURO Double room with shower/WC 41,00 EURO - 50,00 EURO Ask about the triple room.
Pension Becker is right in the middle of old town. The price, which includes breakfast, is very reasonable and all rooms have their own bathroom.

The Bamberger Weissbierhaus by diver-x In Bamberg, we stayed at the Bamberger Weissbierhaus outside of the old town. It was a nice family pub with a few rooms upstairs. The room was quite large and it had a shower, but the toilet was in the hallway outside and was unheated. We liked the place anyway. Normally they serve breakfast, but since it was New Year's there was nobody working that morning. They even trusted us to leave the key in the pub when we left - nobody was there to check us out. 80DM for a double bed with a shower. The Gasthof Goldene Rose by diver-x The Gasthof Goldene Rose in Rothenburg has 25 rooms available. We found it by stopping at the tourist information booth just outside of town. Our room had a sink and shower, but the toilet was down the hall. Prices include breakfast.

Top floor accommodation with views was great by Rumi-fan, 1 more photos This guest house was the "find of the trip". Situated on the top floor of a renovated tower (60 steps). Just 1 minute walk to the town centre. We had 4 adults staying there which would be a maximum. There is one double bed, one single and one fold out lounge. It suited our needs and we enjoyed the architecture so much.
Excellent views of Elbe River and town. The Dom stands majestically right next door. Archeological digs are right outside the front door. The balcony would be great in summer but we couldnt stay out there because of the cold. by miromi Hostels are generally gorgeous and clean, and the ones in the bigger cities are more 'creative' and have all kinds of crazy themed rooms. The people I've met in the hostels are kind of bland though--for some reason I ran again and again into big travelling German American music groups from the south. What's with that? I guess it just depends on who you meet and when. Theme: HostelComparison: least expensive
