When visiting Bavaria and Berchtesgaden there is this hotel called Hotel-Gasthof Nutzkaser that is relatively nearby.
I didn't have any reservation made in advance nor did I knew where I was going to stay. So I kept driving around until I found this hotel on the hill close to farm houses so that you can see cows returning back every evening!

The 'Oberpfaelzer Caravanpark' is a top campground with all the necessary aminities and very reasonable prices.

The balcony would be great in summer but we couldnt stay out there because of the cold.
