Just another B & B by Bill_Steg There is no lack of accommodation to choose from, camping sites, youth hostels (Jugendherbergen), B&B (Zimmer frei), low cost hotels (pension) to first class hotels. Apart from camping sites all accommodation come with a typical German breakfast (Fruhstuck) of magnitude. German people still believe in a hearty breakfast and if you’re wise take your tome over it, it’ll set you up for the rest of the day! Some of the accommodation is unbelievably varied, I for instance have stayed in the YH in Koblenz which is situated smack in the middle of the largest fortress in Europe with a view five star hotels can’t afford! In one of the B&B’s (Sankt Aldegund) I was given a room at the vinery that was in the olden days used as a ball room! If you're afraid of being pampered, don't come here. The restaurant has one Michelin star and IMHO they deserve it. There's a nice pool, sauna and Turkish bath too. by DanielF Accomodation in Germany is not a problem. Standards are high and the choice is wide. Even the cheapest hotels are usually very clean and offer a good range of amenities. Good hotels in the big cities may be a bit expensive, especially if there is a trade fair or similar event being held at the city, but many offer cheaper rates for the weekend and the low season. If there is something I do not like in German hotellerie is that almost all hotels tend to uniformity. Boutique hotels are hard to find and the so-called hotels de caractère a real rarity. Breakfasts are usually copious and offer a large variety of food, but once again, with very few variations between the hotels. Theme: Other

by Mandy23 The German Hotel Guide (http://www.hotelguide.de/) may offer you some help to find a hotel no matter where you wanna stay in Germany. Watch also out for 'Zimmer frei' (vacancies) notices by the roadside, or go to the local Tourist Office. There are many youth hostels throughout Germany. They are open to members of any Youth Hostel Association affiliated to the International Youth Hostel Association. Membership can be obtained from the YHA or Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk (German Youth Hostel Organisation - website: www.djh.de). Reservation is advised during the high season. Theme: Other

by Hexepatty Visiting the Baltic, we went to a small beach village by the name of Prerow. Pension Barthel, photo enclosed ran two people $40 a nite, $4 bucks extra for breakfast. Walking distance to Baltic Sea/Beach. We rented bikes for an additional $5 per day and went to the Nudie Beach. That was cool... $40.00, plus $4.00 for breakfast!
Nice owner, clean rooms, great price! Tv, Vcr, mini-fridge, toaster, coffee maker, shower... Theme: Pension/GuesthouseComparison: least expensiveAddress: Hülsenstraße 41 18375 PrerowOther Contact: http://www.prerow.de/hotels-pens

by Hexepatty In Kehl, right across the Rhein from Strasbourg France, we stayed at a pension, Hotel Gasthof Schwanen. Cheaper to stay in Kehl than it was to stay in France. Plus parking is a NITEMARE in Strasbourg. $50 for two; included big German style breakfast.
CLEAN beyond words, nice owners, good breakfast, free parking, too! Theme: Pension/GuesthousePrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: Hotel Schwanen Landstr. 3 KorkOther Contact: http://www.schwanen-kork.de Tel.

Munich was our longest stay on this trip. We weren't in our rooms much but all the basics were there- a good, comfortable bed. The restaurant on the bottom floor served great food considering that it was prepaid by the tour group.
There are 2 restaurants, a beer garden, hotel bar, a swimming pool, and steam room. Right nice for a place a tour group would stay. C.H.A. must have gotten a great deal. Theme: HotelAddress: Domagkstr. 26, Muenchen 80807
