The Alte Thorschenke hotel in downtown Cochem is one of the oldest hotels in the Mosel valley and it was built in 1332. It is filled with antiques and also has a nice restaurant with a patio for outdoor dining.

You can spend a night in a true castle with a moat, a drawbridge and fortifications.

I stayed at the ParkHaus hotel which is owned by Best Western
I believe our rooms were about 98 US per night.

Cheap and clean. Not much in the way of amenties. Breakfast is weak so head out of the hotel to the bakery just around the corner for some excellent pastry.

DM 105-120 ($50-$60 in March 2001)

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful little town on the Rhine. Rick Steves recommends it and it is really nice. If there isn't a room available, though, try out the other pensions/B&B's just to stay in Bacharach. It is a great place to visit.

Landal Greenparks has several parks located in an green environment.
We visited two parks. Mont Royal and Warsberg.

Nice price, pool, great views.
In Saarburg you can reach the park with a cablecar.

Nice view because it is situated at Mont Royal. A little mountain in a curve of the Mosel. There is a supermarket. you can get some wood for the fireplace.
The swimmingpool isn't big. You will find a bigger one in Traben Traarbach.
