Stayed for 4 nights in October 2006. Booked double room which was on the third floor. The room was very comfortable and theme was minimal. Had 20 inch LCD TV with CNN. Breakfast was served and consisted of bread, jam, cold meats, boiled eggs, juice, coffee, cereal and yogurt, and served from 7AM. Staffs were helpful but it seemed that only one person is on duty at a time. We met a few American tourists during our stay. We paid 72 euros a night including breakfast for two persons. Located between Leopoldplatz, which is a city center, and famous Friedrichsbad and Caracalla Spa and sits above the city center. Bathroom has shower facility and hair dryer but didn't provide shampoo or soap. Our room had small sitting area and large closet for storage of clothes and bags. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who want to experience typical German style bed and breakfast setting. However, this is not Hilton or Four Season's. If you are looking for luxury, you are better off at Dorint Sofitel or Brenner's Park in Baden Baden.
The whole atmosphere was very private yet cozy. Situated within a few minutes of walking distance from city center where most of the actions are and bath houses. There are several bus lines from the train station to the city center, and it was very convenient for taking short excursions to nearby attrations, i.e. Strasbourg, Basel, or Black Forest region. Most of the restaurants were nearby within walking distance. Overall, our stay was very traditional German experience. Leave a Comment
