Public transport to Böblingen?
Am 90% certain of going to Böblingen next month for a business trip. Just wondering approximately how far away is it from Stuttgart. I don't have a licence to drive outside Ireland so it's either taxis or public transport to get around?

As far as I know it is no problem with the public transport to go to Stuttgart. distance Stuttagrt-Böblingen: about 25 km

Take S-Bahn S1 direction Herrenberg. It takes 24 min from Stuttgart's main train station.

Thanks guys... at the moment I do not know if I will be staying in Boeblingen or Stuttgart, but I'm sure they will organise some good accomodation for me regardless.
I've been to Stuttgart before and kann Deutsch sprechen, so once I arrive in Stuttgart/Boeblingen, I will be fine :-)

You mean your Irish license isn't accepted in Germany? My US license is. Or maybe I don't understand...

I have a provisional driving licence (a learner one). Once I pass my driving test, I will get a full licence, which will allow me to drive outside Ireland.
If you have a provisional driving licence in Ireland, you can only drive within the Republic - I cannot even drive to Northern Ireland by law.

Hi Orla,
where are you going to in Böblingen? Depending on the location you either have to exit the S-Bahn at "Goldberg" or "Böblingen" or "Böblingen-Hulb" from the Böblingen main station you can take taxis or buses. On the other two stations I've never seen any taxis and the phone booths are always destroyed by stupid people.
