Museums Pass
by german_eagle
For all those who are interested in culture, museums, art collections the regional museums pass (Oberrheinischer Museumspass) is a great deal.
The Museums Pass covers more than 150 museums in the region, including Germany, France and Switzerland and such famous museums like the Art Museum in Basel and the Unterlinden museum in Colmar.
In Freiburg it covers e.g. the Augustinermuseum.
I purchased the short-time version, valid four days within one month. It costs 25 Euro.

a break to relax
by chancay
Monday to Friday you can go to the Freiburger Muenster at noon to listen 10 minutes to very relaxing and calming organ music, always between 12:05 and 12:15. I think, this is a brilliant idea, one neither has to be religious to participate here. I entered by chance just at that time the cathedral to have a look and was impressed by the wonderful realxing music. Obviously the sound in such a big church is really excelent. I couldn´t see where they were playing as this Muenster has 3(!) really big organs.
Beautiful Baroque Church
by Zandra
Don't miss out on this gorgeous Baroque church in the small village of St Peter in Schwarzwald (the Black Forest). The church is part of a Benedictine Monastery. Even if you're not a great fan of Baroque, St Peter is still well worth a visit due to the nice views of the Black Forest landscape. The village is located 720 m above the sea level and is an officially recognized health resort. St. Peter was founded in 1093 by Duke Bertold II of Zähringen.
From Freiburg you drive towards Titisee, then follow the signs for St Peter. You can't miss the church; it's located on top of a hill, overlooking the village.
C-Punkt - Information and Film about Münster
by Loeffle
Here you can just relax after your trip through town, buying some souvenirs connected to the M?nster or just take a quick cup of coffee or tea.
This place was originally the "M?nsterbauh?tte", where craftmen and artists built things to repair the M?nster. Today it is used as a place where you can watch a film about the M?nster (history, art, function) or book M?nster guided trips in small groups (special wishes accepted) or the regular ones (see "must see tip" M?nster).
In addition you can read and buy books about Christianity here or just have a talk with nice people about what bothers you.
I like this place, and I enjoy buying postcards there :)
C-Punkt is "left behind" M?nster seen from M?nster main entrance (behind the Wine tasting house) .
Film: 30 mins, shown Mon to Fri 15:30 ... groups with more than eight reserve in advance: 0,50 EUR kids, 1 EUR adults
General opening hours: Mon to Fri 10:00 - 18:00, Sat 10:00-14:00
Trams and busses
by chancay
Freiburg has a good system of busses and trams around the city, as well unto a lot of little villages around the main city. The trams look really old and "cute". You can get tickets insdie the busses and trams, paying cash or with a money function on the credit / bank card, if you something like that.
