Freiburgs attractions are derived from in and around it. They range from adventures in the black forest, over fan tours in Disney land to summer afternoons at lake Titsee.
Left is the heart of Freiburg, "Bertolds Brunnen". This is the meeting point for the whole of Freiburg. The city begins and ends here, that is, before a walk on the shopping streets peolpe meet at this point and at the end of the day they depart from this point.
Having toured the beautiful historical side of Freiburg comprising of historical buildings like the “Kaufhaus” and Monuments like the town gates, you can then continue with its natural resources above all the “Black forest”.

A lot of little open rain water canals pass through Freiburg centrum. There is an old tradition that says when anyone steps in a Baechle he /she will marry to a person from Freiburg....so be careful....or not, it´s your choice ;-))
ski-jumping close to Freiburg
by globetrott
For all fans of Ski-jumping there is a place rather close to Freiburg, where you can watch the training of the german Ski-jumping-elite: Hinterzarten is about 40 minutes by train or by car from Freiburg and there will be various competitions every winter and you may even be able to watch the training of famous ski-jumpers like father and son Thoma, who live in Hinterzarten and won several international competitions and medails at olympic games. - see their webpage below ! In most cases you will just WATCH that sport and not be able (or daring) to jump yourself ! In case that you really dare to try it yourself, you will also find a place to rent the equipment !

Freiburg has not only a beautiful main city but as well a lot of really nice villages around the city, e.g. on the west side of Freiburg is the "Tuniberg" region with some cozy little villages. On the photo you see a little chapel in a village called Opfingen. You will find there a lot of possibilities to try wines and have a beautiful relaxing evening.
Sonnenhof construction site in Vauban
by Nemorino
Since Vauban tends to attract mainly young middle class families with children, various projects are underway to provide housing for other groups, including this new building to provide communal living arrangements for the elderly.
Like all the other buildings in Vauban, this one will be a low-energy building using regenerative energy sources.
