Winzerhof Sester: A True Black Forest Experience

This B&B is a great way to experience the Black Forest as a local at a bargain price. For 33 Euro per night, 2 people can stay in an immaculately clean 2 bedroom apartment (Ferienwohnung) with living room, kitchen, and bathroom with shower. The apartment can accommodate up to 5 people, for an additional 3 Euro per person. Three night minimum stay. Water, beer, and Schnapps are made available for a nominal charge to guests. Schnapps is distilled in the barn at the back of the house. The Sester family is happy to let you sample any of the delicious schnapps that they make and all are available for sale. Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is centrally located to visit the sights throughout the Black Forest.

Unique Quality: Everyone here only speaks German! If you don’t speak German (at least at a solid conversational level) you will probably not be able to even make a reservation. Even my friends who live in Frankfurt and speak fluent German had a little trouble with the Black Forest accent. Schnapps is distilled on site from fruits grown right outside you door. Beautiful location several kilometers outside Gengenbach.
