At the Edge of the Alstadt

Hotel Anlange is an excellent choice when visiting Heidelberg. Right up against the Alstadt and only 2 blocks from the longest pedestrian only road in the old town, the Hotel has 23 rooms.

The small elevator takes you to floors above ground level, or take the stairs and enjoy the emense stained glass windows that look out on the garden. Interesting antiques abound in the public areas.

We had a large double room with a nice sitting area, with a couch, table and two very comfortable chairs. The couch also made into a bed, probably allowing this room to serve as a triple if needed.

Unique Quality: Morming breakfast was served from 7 am til 10 am. Breakfast included hot rolls and various breads, fresh jams, cheeses, meats, orange juice, coffee and tea. Other choices were available for a cost (eggs, cereal, milk, yogurt).

The hotel is family run and the family was friendly and helpful. Evidence of the family's life onsite is everywhere; strollers, toys, highchairs. It made for a more "at home" feeling.

Our off season rate for this nice room was 84 euro per night, inclusive.
