See the castle! Especially in October. The walk there is full of beautiful falling leaves, awash with color. The mornings are cool and misty and the castle looks like it has stepped out of another time just for you. The youth hostel was a blast. A group of young women were there on some sort of school field trip and I was one of only a few eligible men hanging out there.
Korn Platz

Just around the corner from the Markt platz is the small korn Platz. Here you get an unusual view of the castle.
Also to be admired is Peter van den Branden's baroque madonna statute - built 1718. The University, Markt and Korn Platz are the sites of christmas markets too in Heidelberg.

explore every nook and cranny of the HEIDELBERG CASTLE. You MUST go out onto the Belvedere Terrace (like what I did in the pic below). There, you'd be rewarded with great panoramic views of the entire Old Town.
Tipping

While service charges are included in your restaurant bill, it's usual to round up the bill anywhere from the nearest dollar to 5%.
This should be given to the waiter/waitress when paying. Don't leave any money on the table. In a taxi, there’s no need to go beyond rounding up to the nearest dollar to tip unless extraordinary service is provided.
Going to the Schloss

Hmmm... I'm not too sure but it's worth a check!
I think that besides taking the funicular up to the schloss, or walking up the steep slope, there's an alternate way.
That would be to use the staircase on the right just before going through the gates and up the slope. The staircase is directly opposite the giftshop. You can't miss it.
The thing is that it provides a better walk but it's a longer walk up too.
Also, I didn't see any entrance or exit counters as we left the schloss and walked down, so... maybe there isn't a need to pay an entrance fee if you go through this way?
hehehe... just perhaps.
