Hotel And Restaurant Auerstein is a good three stars hotel located about 2 Km from the Heidelberg downtown. A friendly staff give you a nice welcome in this hotel located in an ancient building. The hotel has got 17 rooms on three floors. You must do some exercise do carry your baggages in the room because there isn't the lift.
If you arrive by car, the hotel doesn't have parking lot so you must park along the street.

Unique Quality: The hotel has got 17 rooms: single, double and triple. My room (a triple one) was fantastic. It was a beautiful big and clean mansard (tower room): it has got TV, telephone and free bottles of water. The bathroom was normal size with shower.
The breakfast was fantastic: you have a great choice of different kinds of bread, cereals, yougurt, fresh fruits and much more...it was the ideal to start the day!!!

There is very little inexpensive accommodation in Heidelberg. The best we could do was 80 Euro/night in a little hotel across the river in the village of Handschuhsheim, a 10 minute bus or tram ride to the centre (Bismarckplatz).

Unique Quality: Hotel zum Auerstein has tastefully decorated rooms with prices that include breakfast, and private bath/toilet. Parking is on the street, but was not a problem for us.
