Wonderful Heidenheim

This is the Schloss, or castle, in my home town of Heidenheim. This is a small town that is located off of A7, just north of Ulm. Ulm is located about half-way between Munich and Stuttgart in Southern Germany.
There is not much to do in Heideneheim, and the weekends are slways spent travelling to different cities and countries. This has been a really great base for me to experience Europe from.

The Winter Family

This pictures shows my friends Klaus and Erwin. As I told you in the introduction, we are good friends for some years.

We share a nice hobby: We like listen to radio stations from around the world on shortwave. The picture above shows us holding radio recievers and pennants from radio stations.

Listen to short wave can be very funny. The Winter´s are really short wave enthusiasts. They have a radio with short wave even in their car.

A nice story: When Klaus and I went back from the Hellenstein castle to their house in Mergelstetten, he turned the radio on. We listed to Radio Austria International from Vienna. They had music programme and guess what they play: The "Edelweiss" song! I think I didn´t have to tell you where this song is from. Yes, you are right: It is from the movie "The sound of Music". Later we were listen to Radio Vlaanderen International and heard news from Belgium.

In the evening we listened to Radio Korea International from Seoul. They had a listener´s feedback show on their programme and they introduced our letters we send them a few weeks again. It was funny!
