Ringhotel Residenz Karlsruhe: The Sleep & Go single room was great !

Ringhotel Residenz Karlsruhe is situated conveniently next to the main trainstation "Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof" and they offer a great type of singleroom for quite a cheap price.

I had a room that was called "Sleep and go" or "Schlaf und weg" : the room was just 11m² but it had private facilities and the price is 53 euros for that room in 2010.
Breakfast-buffet was inlcuded in the price as well and the free use of the internet at the reception.

Hotel Schröcker Tor: a good hotel in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen

Hotel Schröcker Tor in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen is a hotel built directely at the station of the tram, that is going to Karlsruhe.
These trams will NOT disturb you while sleeping, they go almost without any noise !!!
Hotel Schröcker Tor is the only hotel we found in that village and the rooms were fine and modern, but the photo I am showing here is NOT the hotel, but the most lovely building in Egg-Leo, the townhall.

The price for a singleroom was 55 Euros, breakfast included.
The room had all private facilities and TV.
The breakfast-buffet was excellent as well.
Hotel Schröcker Tor has also a great restaurant, but we did not go there !

Flugplatz-Hotel-Concorde: a good hotelin Donaueschingen

Flugplatz-Hotel-Concorde in Donaueschingen is a great place to stay close to Schwarzwald / Black Forest, when you arrive on the highway via Stuttgart and Villingen-Schwennigen. That airport is much too small for a Concorde and other larger airplanes, so the noises are almost non-existant. At least we did not hear anything from planes landing or departing, this airport is mainly used by sports-pilots and maybe some extra flights for smaller business-airplanes.

I once needed a hotel urgently in that area, when I was travelling with my mother and this hotel was directely on the road from Stuttgart to Schwarzwald / Black Forest. The rooms were great just as the breakfast-buffet and I may highly recommend this place to everyone !
I payed 67,- euros for the single-room with private facilities, breakfast-buffet included
a double is 98,- euros

Parkhotel Adler: a luxury hotel in Hinterzarten

Parkhotel Adler in Hinterzarten is the most confortable luxury hotel in Black Forest and it dates back to the year 1446 and always was in the posession of the same family since that time. The hotel has a wide spa- and wellness-area, an excellent restaurant and a wide park around of the buildings. the path that you may see on my pictures is a public path, where everybody may walk through !

Hotel Schwarzwaldhof: a great hotel in Hinterzarten

Hotel Schwarzwaldhof in Hinterzarten is a great hotel in the very centre of this holidayresort and this is the place, where my mother mostly stayed a few nights when we had been in Black Forest. They have a great restaurant with local specialities and an excellent breakfast-buffet.

I was really glad to see that this old traditional hotel had a lift, so it was easy for my mother to get to her room on 2nd floor. The noises of the trainline next to the hotel are not so bad, all trains are going slow there and there seems to be some extra noise-protection as well and of course most of the hotelrooms are facing to the other direction anyway.

Hofgut Sternen: a place of history & a great modern hotel

Maybe you like to stay in a great hotel far away from traficnoises or In case that the hotels in the city of Freiburg are fully booked, why dont you go a bit outside and book in an old, historic hotel : Goethe stayed there in 1779, princess Marie Antoinette in 1770 ,composer Mendelson Bartholdy in 1837 (& in 2004 even globetrott) were staying there and enjoyed their stay in the remote and quiet place close to Ravenna-Schlucht. The building, where Goethe spent the night, is part of the hotel as well, see my 2nd picture !

Hofgut Sternen combines the traditional style of the black-forest-architecture with all of the comfort,that you will expect from a modern hotel.

Hotel Rappen in Freiburg im Breisgau: in the very centre

Hotel Rappen in Freiburg im Breisgau is a perfect choice for everyone, who is looking for a hotel that is centrally located in the city of Freiburg, just a few steps from the cathedral, to the lovely old town and pedestrian area. It is a bit hard to find your way to this hotel, when you want to get there by car, so many different one-ways and restrictions to be considdered, BUT finally I managed to drive my mother there and she enjoyed her stay in that hotel very much !
This hotel also has a Lift !!

For me it was important to know, that W-LAN Internet is free of charge in all of the rooms and that some of the 34 rooms are equipped with anti-allergic furniture and bed-ware !

Accommodation in Tübingen's historic Centre: Affordable Hotels and Guesthouses

My colleague from Tübingen sent me the following info about affordable accommodation in Tübingen's historic town centre:

Hotel am Schloss (of course, very nice location) double rooms incl. buffet breakfast from 108 Euro
Hospiz, double room incl. buffet breakfast from 102 Euro
Pension Binder (Nonnengasse) from 78 Euro

where you would find private rooms, kind of B&B's. Most are outside the historic centre but the following are inside the old town:

Familie Hornbacher
Familie Nikos
Both are in a street named Neckarhalde, prices per person from 20 Euro

The youth hostel is close to the old town centre.

He also recommended Hotel Meteora outside the old centre. It is only a bit more than 1 km from the very centre, and it would take about 15 min to walk.

House Waldfrieden - Krumbach nr Limbach: Miles way from anything

Located this property from http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p24507. It is in a park with other mobile homes and little else. Across the road from this park is a campsite which you can use the facilities including swimming pool, tennis courts and gymnasium. We did not use these mainly because the pool was not open until the afternoon. There is also a bar/restaurant which serves food of very good value although the surroundings were basic. It would be nice to sit outside if it were a bit warmer. The on site shop sold fresh rolls every day and UHT milk but little else. Supplies were available from Limbach, 2km away.

This is a really quiet place to stay and this particular unit was well equipped and looked after splendidly. It has its own small garden to sit in and enjoy the relaxing sun.

There are a number of 'wanderweg' walks marked out nearby. There is little space to organise games/sports for younger children but great exploring opportunities.
